The Affect of COVID-19 on your Vacation – What do we do now?

As I am writing this Blog, I wonder how everyone is doing?  First and foremost, our well being is number one in a time like this.  If you are sick, I pray for you.  If you are well, I pray that you will remain well throughout this pandemic.  Let’s all continue practicing Social Distancing and remain home if you can.  Check on your loved ones, but keep your distance.  If you are home with your kids trying to home school and work at the same time, you are strong and can do this.  We are all in this together and will come out stronger than before.

Currently, I am continuing to service my travelers.  I’ve had some whose vacation plans were cancelled by the suppliers due to the travel ban.  We have been working together to reschedule their trips.   I have also had personal phone conversations with my business contacts for the major tour companies about these trips that were suspended due to the travel band and getting first hand information to service my clients to re-book their trips to later dates and/or a totally different destination.

I am also looking out for my travelers whose trips are scheduled in the next couple of months.  For the past week or more, I have been continuously receiving updates from cruise lines, tour operators, and resorts as they are adjusting their Final Payment dates and also easing their Change and Cancellation policies to make your decisions a little easier.  If I haven’t contacted you already, your trip is currently not in jeopardy or is later in the year or next year.  I have also been having web meetings with Cruise Lines and Tour companies to stay up to date with what is going on in the travel industry.  In fact, I am on one right now as I am writing this.

Not since 9/11 have we seen the travel industry come to a screeching halt.  All cruise ships are docked, many flights are cancelled, and countries are closing their borders.  Of course, there are more important things to do right now than travel.  And we absolutely agree.   But there will come a time when you are ready to get back on the road, ship, or plane.  Hopefully that will be sooner than expected as long as we all do our part.  All is not lost.  If you currently have a vacation scheduled in the next few months and you are sure that you can’t go through with it, let’s work together to reschedule it to a later date.  There are many incentives in place to save your vacation.   You know you will need it! If you decide to drive to your destination, you need to plan your routes carefully. And in case you get involved in a vehicular accident during a road trip, be sure to protect your rights by hiring an injury lawyer.

For the next few weeks, I will be posting on my Facebook page and Instagram page.  I will not be posting sales and promotions, even though there will be many great ones.  I will be showcasing destinations, types of travel, inspirational photos, videos, and some Geography lessons.   Of course, if you want to plan a future vacation, we can absolutely do that if you contact me by phone, messenger, or email.

Everyone, please stay safe and healthy.  Pray for our health care workers, grocery store workers, truck drivers delivering supplies, our government leaders, and all who have to get out and work to keep the economy stable.  Pretty soon, we will be ready to see the world again with a fresh, new perspective and an unbelievable connection to one another.

Marla, thanks for all you do. This virus probably has you going in many directions at one time. Your guidance is much appreciated. Looking forward to our cruise when it can happen safely. Will be watching for more information from you. You are awesome.
